Nature

We have Redwoods! Close by is Purissima Open Space Preserve, with an easy hike to see 2nd growth trees along a beautiful stream. 

 North of San Francisco is Muir Woods, with preserved old growth redwoods along an easy hike. (reservations required) 

We have the Pacific Ocean! It's only a half hour away, due west. 

Places

Alcatraz is great! We highly recommend this experience. Advance tickets required.

San Francisco is beautiful, in particular the old Sutro Baths, Golden Gate Park, the bay front piers...all easy walking delights.

The Marin headlands never dissapoint. On the far side of the GG Bridge, they afford a beautiful view of the City, the bay and the ocean from a literal hawk's eye view.
